Gravimetric dosing system Engin Plast for laboratory extruder ICMA San Giorgio

In cooperation with the leading European manufacturer of cutting systems, ICMA San Giorgio launched a laboratory line for testing in Monroe (near Detroit), Michigan, USA.

This compounding and pelletizing line, equipped with an ICMA twin-screw extruder with a co-directional rotation of 50 mm diameter augers of the high-torque MCM range, is designed to process a wide range of compounds, including structural polymers and filled compositions.

This line also includes Engin Plast gravimetric dosing system and Gefran control system - produced by two well-known Italian companies working together with ICMA in North America.

With this project, ICMA is completing the renovation of its base in North America, which began two years ago with Prescott Machine, in Saginaw, Michigan.

"Our company has been successfully working in the North American market for over thirty years, both in the field of compounding and direct extrusion, and this has already become a good tradition. This project is designed to strengthen our position in the local market and better serve it due to the fact that many production operations will be carried out on site. It is also convenient for our European customers who open or have already opened production in the US, "said Giorgio Colombo, Managing Director of ICMA San Giorgio.
"Having a production line for testing not only gives ICMA more opportunities to enter the market, but also allows those American companies that want to test ICMA extruders to do it on the spot," added Ray Miller, head of Prescott Machine.
