Unlike other manufacturers of automated systems, Campetella Group chose to invest in technology and exports. And achieved good results.

Mr. Campettella, how would you rate what was done by Campetella Group during 2007?

For us, the Plast 2006 exhibition has become a clear and positive turning point, although we are aware that for others this is probably not the case.

During the years preceding the last Plast exhibition, when the market experienced a protracted difficult period, some of our competitors reduced the investment to a minimum. We preferred to take the risk by going to the Plast exhibition with a series of completely redesigned robot models that also feature updated mechanics and electronics. The market, which constantly monitors real innovations, even in the most difficult times, appreciated our efforts, and this was reflected in its choice. The extremely favorable trend that we felt during the past year seemed to have almost disappeared after the summer, and since we are constantly engaged in numerous negotiations, it seems to us that we are again witnessing the beginning of a period of more cautious and thoughtful actions. We hope that this will not be a prelude to a new period of stagnation.

This is a trend that you see mostly in the Italian market, and it is also evident in other markets, where you work?

It seems that the trend is widespread, although foreign markets, during which there has been a decline in the last 2-3 years, began to give some positive signals in response to our efforts to strengthen our sales network.

We believe that in Italy there are still market segments that need to be won, despite the fact that the competition is strong enough and tough.

How does your international activity adapt to this?

A significant share of our turnover, about 40%, is formed in international markets. Our sales policy was never determined by the desire to get quick results: we strongly preferred to explore new markets only when we felt that we had found a reliable partner for controlling sales, which also has the necessary equipment to ensure effective after-sales service. It is not easy to find a partner who meets all our requirements. We are doing things gradually, our goal is to take each year for 1-2 new countries, to take root in them and strengthen our presence.

How did you develop other products of your assortment?

At K exhibitions, we will present brand-new automatic winding machines that can be described as futuristic, as well as applied products, technologies and performance. The car of the previous generation, called "Futura", was on the market for 20 years and was approved by users: the efforts made to produce a truly brand new product were, of course, significant, but we believe that we managed to cope with this task with optimal results.

In short, what are your priorities in the medium term?

We have just passed a very important stage in the development of our company, having transferred the entire production of robots to a new enterprise with an area of 2,600 square meters. in the industrial area of Montecassiano, while maintaining the old production facilities in working order.

Now we are looking for the possibility of expanding the new area, with the intention of moving all our activities there.
